Sanierung und Umbau eines Kölner Kultbüdchens Von den Bläck Fööss besungen, ist die Schmitzebud weit über die Grenzen von Rath bekannt. Für die notwendigen Sanierungsmaßnahmen war es daher oberstes Gebot, den Wiedererkennungswert der Schmitzebud zu bewahren. Das Farbkonzept spiegelt das bunte Angebot der kölschen Büdchen wider. Die Räume wurden neu strukturiert – weg vom Kiosk mit ausschließlichem Außerhausverkauf, hin zu einem Ort der Kommunikation. Am langen Tresen, dem verbindenden Element, wechselt die Nutzung von Kiosk zu Bar zu Tisch, von Geschäftigkeit zu offener Kommunikation zu privaten Gesprächen.
